Everything I Have Learnt From The Cherry Tree, Mini

Everything I Have Learnt From The Cherry Tree, Mini

Amelia’s art explores self-acceptance, gender and female sexuality. Both humorous and tinged with darkness, her work plays with juxtapositions.

Everything I Have Learnt From the Cherry Tree is inspired by the tree outside Amelia’s studio window. The piece explores our connection with nature, and reflects Amelia’s practice of ‘Hanami’ –  a traditional Japanese custom of ‘flower viewing’, which involves consciously enjoying the transient beauty of flowers. Amelia comments:

“Like this tree, I am also constantly experiencing rituals of transition, liminal states where something old has to die in order for us to enter a new piece of ourselves.”

This giclée print is from a limited edition of 30, signed and numbered by the artist.
