Venice Suite Fishing
Peter Blake's Venice Suite series is a prime example of the artist's playful collage style, this time inspired by his trip to the romantic city for the Biennale of 2007.
The collection combines traditional images of Venice with cuttings from photographs, postcards and children's books, to create a surreal fairytale city besieged by unexpected visitors. In Fishing, you'll spy a fisherman mid-catch, a couple of men out for a row, and a raft that seems to have taken a serious detour from the Amazon River.
Published in 2009, this silkscreen print is from a limited edition of 75, signed and numbered by the artist.
Size (cm): 30.5 x 40.7
