Revolving Love, Blue

Revolving Love (Blue) is a from a set of two screenprints by Gavin Turk, offering his playful interpretation of Robert Indiana’s iconic Love letters.

Inspired by the dizzying illusions of Op Art, Turk has exaggerated Indiana’s tilted ‘O’, creating letters that appear to have spun 360 degrees.

The button-shape of the piece is a nod to Turk’s infamous 1991 degree show in which he exhibited a glossy blue heritage plaque entitled, Cave, and subsequently failed his course. Ironically, the piece has gone on to be one of his best-known works.

This screenprint with gloss varnish and embossing is from a limited edition of 60, signed by the artist on the front and numbered on the reverse.

Size (cm): 70 x 70.
